Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 36.83% in February 2021, a 6.11% growth over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 17.08% in February 2021, marking a 3.09% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.13% in February 2021, an 11.65% growth from January 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 20.44% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s pharma industry during February 2021 over previous month.
HCA Healthcare posted 102 IT jobs in February 2021 and registered a increase of 18.6% over the previous month, followed by Ascension Health with 45 jobs and a 650% growth. F. Hoffmann-La Roche with 44 IT jobs and Mayo Clinic with 40 jobs, recorded a 37.5% growth and a 43.66% drop, respectively, while Providence Health & Services recorded a 33.33% increase with 40 job postings during February 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s pharma industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 95.1% share in February 2021, a 1.63% rise over January 2021. Canada featured next with a 3.37% share, up 19.23% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.52% share, a growth of 33.33% compared with January 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.88%, down by 5.26% from January 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.22% share, a growth of 18.14% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.64% share, up 5.25% over January 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.25%, recording a month-on-month growth of 43.75%.
