US-based software solutions company Inovalon has introduced the Clinical Research Patient Finder, an AI-driven tool that aims to expedite subject recruitment for clinical trials.

The solution is designed to address recruitment challenges, improve the efficiency of trials and introduce life-saving treatments to market quickly by offering real-time subject detection and continuous data monitoring.

It is tailored to serve clinical trial sponsors and companies in the biotechnology, clinical trial recruitment and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as research sites.

By using study-specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, the tool offers instantaneous ‘patient-matching’ capabilities.

Inovalon’s Clinical Research Patient Finder automates the pre-screening process and can be integrated with electronic health records (EHRs) to expedite the recruitment process.

It is intended to reduce the potential for manual errors, improve site performance monitoring and ensure that all eligible patients are identified.

Inovalon president Eron Kelly said: “Patient recruitment remains one of the most complex and time-intensive challenges in clinical research.

“Clinical Research Patient Finder gives research sites real-time visibility into eligible patients within their own electronic health records, enabling them to identify and engage participants more efficiently.

“By streamlining site-based recruitment, this tool helps accelerate recruitment, improve trial diversity, and strengthen the collaboration between sites and sponsors to bring innovative therapies to patients faster.”

The Clinical Research Patient Finder sends automatic notifications to trial teams when new subjects become eligible and identifies potential risks of recruitment.

This allows teams to meet or revise enrolment goals and expedite trial progress, as well as optimise their research sites as they see fit.

The platform also gives teams access to the Inovalon Research Network, a pre-integrated group of trial sites with built-in EHR connections.

Based in Maryland, Inovalon develops software-as-a-service solutions designed to empower data-driven healthcare.

The company’s analytics and capabilities are currently used by more than 50,000 customers worldwide.
