Slope and LabConnect have launched a bidirectional application programming interface (API) integration for the clinical trial industry.
The combination of Slope’s Biospecimen360 platform and LabConnect’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) aims to enhance biospecimen lifecycle management by addressing critical gaps in clinical trials and ensuring data integrity.
It is designed to eliminate common errors associated with paper-based requisitions, eradicate entry delays seen with lab-specific portal e-requisitions, and remove data discrepancies.
The solution also gives users complete control over sample metadata, kit inventory and shipping processes with the aim of increasing the reliability of assay results.
The integration is currently accessible to Slope and LabConnect’s mutual clients, offering an opportunity to streamline operations, minimise errors and expedite research timeline.
LabConnect CEO Wes Wheeler said: “The integrity of assay results begins with the integrity of the sample.

By GlobalData“Our integration with Slope ensures that every step of the biospecimen lifecycle is monitored, controlled, and documented with unparalleled accuracy.
“This level of data integrity has never before been achieved in our industry.”
Slope’s Biospecimen360 platform is designed to digitise the shipping, processing and collection of samples, as well as enable faster lab sample accessioning and LIMS data reporting.
The integration is expected to reduce sample discrepancies and the burden of queries, as well as decrease lab kit waste, while also ensuring that research sites have the required supplies.
Slope CEO Rust Felix said: “This enhanced integration marks a significant advancement in biospecimen management.
“As part of our vendor-agnostic approach, Slope is committed to building an integrated lab ecosystem, with LabConnect as a key partner.
“This transformation sets a new standard for real-time data exchange in clinical trials, revolutionising how the industry manages sample data and inventory.”
Slope provides biospecimen lifecycle software, data and services for clinical trials, while LabConnect supplies a range of services for analytically and logistically complex studies.
