Sitero has acquired Clario with plans to integrate the latter’s eClinical technology suite, an end-to-end clinical trial lifecycle management system, with Sitero's existing Mentor platform to expand the clinical offerings.
Following Clario’s acquisition, the Sitero Mentor platform will support existing Clario customers while working to rebrand and integrate the eClinical technology suite into the Mentor platform, as per Sitero’s press release.
In December 2022, Sitero partnered with CRIO to automate administrative tasks involved in clinical trial research, including patient enrolment, data management, study start-up, and recruitment, to allow for real-time electronic monitoring and management of trials.
The strategic acquisition will add technologies, including electronic data capture (EDC) and associated systems to improve data collection and reduce administrative burden.
It will also introduce a configurable randomisation and trial supply management (RTSM) to accelerate trial start-up, a clinical trial management system (CTMS) to accelerate trial deployment, eTMF software to support trial audit, eConsent for trials, and Site and Patient Payments software for final payments and forecast.
Sitero CEO Sankesh Abbhi said: "This acquisition expands our clinical offerings with a flexible and user-friendly suite of clinical technology solutions that we expect to further strengthen the foundation of our Mentor technology platform."
Sitero also plans to invest heavily in artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance its Mentor platform for providing clinical trial services. AI can be used in various aspects of clinical trial management, including patient screening, data collection and storage, and remote monitoring.
There has been a rise in specialised software providers to reduce administrative and management burdens associated with clinical trials.
Recently, Suvoda launched a system to manage clinical trials, including eConsent, interactive response technology (IRT) for patient randomisation, and manage the trial supply chain, and clinical outcome assessment.
