About Us
The Medicines Evaluation Unit Ltd (MEU) is a contract research organization (CRO). The company carries out early-phase healthy volunteer clinical trials and respiratory trials covering asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, allergy, dermatology, inflammatory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes. MEU offers CRO services such as study management, protocol development, data management, quality assurance, and bioanalytical services. Protocol development includes clinical pharmacology, protocol design, safety, pharmacovigilance, and patient recruitment strategies. Its data management services consist of source documentation and case report form (CRF) review, study and clinic documentation preparation, quality control check of all study record documentation, update of internal databases and records, data entry into CRF, query resolution and data cleaning, and archiving of study documentation. The company handles human matrices comprising induced sputum samples, whole blood samples, nasal samples (nasal lavage and nasal brushes), and bronchoscopy samples (biopsies, bronchoalveolar lavage, and bronchial brushes). MEU developed expertise in the validated measurement of biomarkers (cellular and soluble) using techniques such as differential cell counting and immunohistochemistry.
